The NHS are introducing summary care record (SCR’s), as part of the NHS Care Records Service, to improve the safety and quality of patient care. SCRs will give health-care staff faster, easier access to reliable information about you to help with your treatment. This will be most important if you need help at centres away from home.
You will very shortly be receiving a letter explaining all about the way in which Summary Care Records work and what you have to do, should you decide not to ‘opt in’. Please read this information very carefully.
If you have any further questions with regard to this process, please use the national helpline number given in your letter:
or alternatively, the NHS County Durham PALS Freephone number on:
The NHS Care Records Service website at www.nhscarerecords.nhs.uk is also available.
Please see our Douments page for further information.
Further information and leaflets will be arriving in the Practice shortly but at present this is still awaited.
