Dr Martin Uitenbosch ARTSEXAMEN (MB ChB Equivalent) 
Dr Uitenbosch graduated in February 1987 at the Medical School of the Free University of Amsterdam. He has been a partner with the practice since 1993.
Dr Uitenbosch is the practice representative on the Prescribing Committee of the Darlington Commissioning Cluster Group.
Dr Uitenbosch provides acupuncture to patients requiring this treatment on clinical grounds.
His interests include hockey, bird-watching, gardening, history and the environment

Dr Shelagh M Naismith MB ChB
Dr Naismith graduated in 1988 from Glasgow University and worked in various specialties in Scotland and England before joining the practice.
Her particular interests include Family Planning and psycho sexual medicine.

Dr A C Micaela Young MB ChB; BOA; DRCOG; MRCGP.
Dr Young graduated from Cork University in 1989. She has been a partner with the practice since 1996.
Her special interest includes Psychiatry, working as a Clinical Assistant in Psychiatry at Bishop Auckland and is the joint Lead in Mental Health for Darlington Commissioning Cluster Group. Dr Young also leads the practice in the implementation of computing and IT procedures and the development of staff skills in Information Technology.
When not working she enjoys playing league squash, hill walking, music and literature.

Dr John Jewitt MBBS DRCOG MRCGP
Dr Jewitt graduated from Newcastle University in 1993. He has worked as a GP in County Durham since 1997 before joining Denmark Street Practice in March 2002. He is also a GP Registrar trainer and a Training Programme Director for the Tees Valley Vocational Training Scheme.
In his spare time, Dr Jewitt enjoys mountain biking, skiing and family life.

Dr Claire Jones MB ChB MRCP MRCGP
Dr Jones has overall responsibility for the financial management of the practice and works part time (two days a week). Dr Jones performs minor surgery within the Practice and has a clinical interest in diabetes. Dr Jones also provides appointments for Family Planning.
In her spare time she enjoys family life with her two children.

Dr Kate Holterman Dundee 1998 BMSc MB ChB DFFP DRCOG MRCGP
Graduated from Dundee University in 1998, having also completed an degree in Forensic Medicine. After a year of working in Scotland, Dr Holterman worked in Australia for a further year and then 6 months in Chile as a volunteer medic with Raleigh International, before arriving to this area.
Dr Holterman has an interest in Dermatology, and works at James Cook University Hospital one afternoon a week and is also a GP Trainer in the Practice.

Dr James Nevison MB ChB ( Aberdeen )
He represents the Practice on the Darlington Commissioning Cluster Group and in his spare time is taken up with his family, the occasional game of squash and watching Middlesbrough Football Club.
Graduated from Aberdeen University in 2000 and has worked in various posts in Inverness , Middlesbrough and Stockton before completing his GP training. His interests include minor surgery and is a GP Trainer.

Dr Daniel Palmer BSc MB Chb MRNZCGP MRCGP

Dr Palmer graduated from Manchester University in 2005 after completing the St Andrew’s-Manchester medical degree. He worked in various posts in North Tees and Hartlepool before moving to New Zealand in 2007 and qualified as a GP. Following his return to the UK in 2009 Dr Palmer commenced the UK GP training programme, completing this in 2012. Dr Palmer is also a GP trainer. His particular interest is in sports medicine, doing some work with local football clubs.

In his spare time he enjoys keeping fit and has a busy family life with his 2 young children.


Dr Beverley Hammill BSc MBBX DRCOG DCH MRCGP
Dr Hammill graduated from Newcastle University in 2007, having previously completed a degree in Biomedical Sciences. She joined the practice in 2011 as a Registrar, and stayed with us as a Partner following completion of her GP Training. Dr Hammill works part time alongside Dr Jones. Her particular interests are child health and family planning.
In her spare time Dr Hammill loves spending time with her family and 2 crazy dogs!
                                                                                                                                                            
Nurse Practitioner
Our Nurse Practitioner, Jane Pratt is a new addition to our practice team. Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses who have acquired the formal education, extended knowledge base and clinical skills beyond the registered nurse level to practice in an advanced role. A Nurse Practitioner can examine a patient and establish a medical diagnosis by client history, physical examination, and prescribe treatment.
                                                                                                                                                           
Practice Nurses
Our current Practice Nursing team managed by our Senior Clinical Nurse Karen, comprising of Dee, Joanne,Sue, Heather and Lynsey offer appointments for blood pressure checks and reviews, chronic disease management in diabetes, asthma, COPD, family planning advice, ear syringe, dressings and help our doctors in the provision of minor operations and contraceptive fittings. In addition, our Health Care Assistants, Micki and Debbie provide a daily phlebotomy service and also ECG's, stitch removal, and many other essential services to patients. We also provide a travel health advice service to patients travelling abroad.
                                                                                                                                                             
Reception/Administration Staff

Our administration staff will arrange appointments either by phone or face to face, order repeat prescriptions and help with any queries.

                                                                                                                                                    

 Medical Secretaries

The secretaries deal with all hospital communications, including hospital referrals, daily correspondence and any related queries.
                                                                                                                                                              
Practice Business Manager
Mrs Cherrie Hirst is responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice. She welcomes any comments or suggestions and may be contacted if you have a problem or a complaint you would like to discuss.  The Practice Business Manager is involved in managing all the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology.
