New Patients

Quote / Testimonial:
The doctors welcome new patients who live within our practice area. If you move out of the practice area you may need to register with another practice.

All new patients are invited to make an appointment to have a health check with our practice nurse.

Register With Us

  • Anyone in England can register with a GP surgery. You do not need proof of address or immigration status, ID or an NHS number.

To register with us, please check you live within our catchment area; you can do this using the map below.

Once you have ensured you live within our boundary, please complete the online ‘NHS GP Registration’.

Alternatively, please complete the online ‘New Patient Registration’ form. Registration forms are also available from Reception at the Practice.

Register your baby/child with your GP as early as possible in case you need our help. Come to the surgery and fill in a registration form or simply complete the form via the link below. Please bring the baby’s red book, birth certificate or hospital discharge summary as we will need your baby’s NHS number.

It’s important to register your child with a GP as most children will be unwell at some point and being registered with a GP will make seeing a doctor much quicker and more convenient when you need it. Most parents and carers register their children with their own GP practice.

Children’s Registration Form

You will be sent a text message when we have processed the information to inform you have been registered with the practice, the name of your allocated named GP, and also a link to follow to complete a new patient questionnaire.

If you wish to have new patient check then please make an appointment to see a Health Care Assistant. Once we have accepted you onto our list you will be registered with the Practice and may consult any doctor.

Every patient is now allocated a named GP. This may be different from the GP you usually see. This does not change the way you book appointments. It means that one GP will have overall responsibility for your care at the surgery.

For continuity of care we encourage patients to try and book appointments with their usual GP. On some occasions this may not be possible so please be assured that all the other doctors that are available on that day will be able to help you with your problem.

Temporary Patient Registrations

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

Overseas Visitors

Those who visit the UK from overseas must pay for their care when they are in England.

In 2015 changes were made to how the NHS charges overseas visitors for healthcare so the NHS does not lose out on income for the services these patients have received.

Find Your NHS Number

Sometimes when filling in online forms or speaking with our staff, you may be asked for your NHS number.

This online tool will help you find your number if you do not know it.

Please Note

You do not need to know your NHS number to use NHS services, but it can be useful to have it.

Other ways to get your NHS number

If you cannot get your NHS number online you can:

  • find it on any letter from the NHS like a prescription or appointment letter
  • call your GP surgery and ask them for your number

Non-English Speakers

They cover issues such as the role of GPs, their function as gatekeepers to the health services, how to register and how to access emergency services.

Special care has been taken to ensure that information is given in clear language, and the content and style has been tested with user groups.
