The Foodstore is a place where anyone who finds themselves in times of hardship can come to get emergency food.
When visiting for the first time we will need take a few details from you, this is just to make sure you are getting the help you need. You will always be welcomed into a friendly, warm environment and you can usually have some soup while you wait.
There are a few places in which you can pick up food during the week, this is so that you can visit the place most convenient to you.

Safer Homes Project
Safeguarding Vulnerable People From Fire and Crime
Do you know that the fire service, police & county council can provide free advice and resources to help make your home safer from fire & crime?
The Safer Homes Project is collaborative working between County Durham and Darlington Fire & Rescue Service, Durham Constabulary, Darlington Partnership and Neighbourhood Watch/community based volunteers with the aim of assisting isolated and vulnerable residents to improve safety and wellbeing in their home.

Macmillan Cancer Support
The Macmillan Information and Support Centre provides a free, confidential drop in service for anyone affected by cancer. They offer information on a wide range of cancer related topics, financial advice and a bra and headwear fitting service. The staff can help you access counselling services and local support groups. Most importantly have a cup of tea and talk over any problems.
ECA Darlington Recovery and Wellbeing Service
The Recovery and Wellbeing Service offer support for people to choose recovery as a way out of dependency.
The Centre Offers a “recovery-orientated” approach to substance misuse (drug and alcohol) treatment including:
- Recovery and Wellbeing Co-ordinators to support an individual through their journey to recovery
- Advice and information
- Prescribing service
- Psychosocial interventions
- Family support service
- Individual and group work
- Structured day care activities
- Access to peer mentoring and mutual aid services
- Harm reduction

If you feel that you are suffering from a musculoskeletal complaint that could benefit from Physiotherapy, you are now able to make a direct referral to the County Durham Integrated MSK Service (CD IMS). This offers patients greater choice and faster access to hospital services without the need to visit your GP.
You are aged 16 years and older and you are registered with a GP within the North Durham, Derwentside, Durham Dales and Easington/Sedgefield area
